Ok my spouse cheated on me moved out I stayed in the house its been 6 months and I am struggling to pay bills the house title is in both names the mortgage is in hers I have been paying but can afford anything but bills my kids are with me 5 nights a week. I told my stbx that I could not stay here anymore and we agreed that if I moved she would move back in but now she doesn't want it. What can I do and what reprocussions are there if I cant pay
I knew a person that stayed in a house for over a year before they were evicted. They saved a bunch of money and found a nice small place to rent after that.
Like I said, it may sound nasty but it actually may help you get back on your feet...
What my ex and I did was write the mortgage company a letter saying that we were walking away from the house. It saved us court hearings and needed attorneys. Eventually, the mortgage company sold the house and I paid the difference between the value and the sale in taxes.
