I've been waiting for today for a couple of weeks. Everyday the anticipation grew and grew.
It's the last Friday of the month. It's the day that I balance my accounts and pay the last of the bills and see where I'm at financially.
This was the first month, well 2/3 of the month in using a credit card to pay all my bills as well as groceries and other odds and ends. I checked the credit card statement on-line and saw I got back a little over $10 in cash rewards. Then I noticed the bill wasn't due until September 3rd. Well, the idea of this is to pay the credit card in full at the end of the month. So I paid the credit card and no outstanding bills are left for the month.
The amazing part of paying bills with the credit card instead of cash was that I have been able to save 50% of my gross pay and 62% of my take home pay. I do know that next month it will balance itself back out a bit.
I still haven't paid for my airplane tickets to England. I used an Orbitz CC for this purchase in the last week of June and decided to wait on paying it, so maybe I could pay it off without touching any of the money I already saved for it. And guess what? I have saved the money to pay it off before the August 18th due date. What this means is the money I already had saved for the ticket is now money for the holiday. I'm well ahead of where I usually am for this time of the year..
Since 2011, I have tracked my finances. During that time, the best I have ever done is four months of growth and then losing a little before going back up the scale. This year has been consistent growth. August will be the first time that I will lose a little money by paying off the Orbitz card. And an appointment for the optician and new glasses.
I'm beginning to see my dream of moving to England is a near reality. Another year like this and I will meet the immigration income threshold that is needed.
I used to think that it was unfair to live a life without things. It didn't matter if I needed it, all that mattered was I wanted it. I had so many wants and yet felt totally miserable. Now I have no wants and very few needs and am very content. I live a frugal life, yet I still know how to have a good time without going into debt to do it.
I spent most of my life working for money and never seeming to have enough. Now, while I still work, I make money work for me instead of the other way around...

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz
