The past few years I had to quit my career due to illnesses , mainly due to fibromyalgia. I was not able to get SSDI due to them not looking at Fibro as a disability (long story).
My husband has a job, so we are supported that way.
I have some old debts, some were orignated prior to my marriage 7 years. I did turn my car in as we couldn't afford it.
I am very good at budgeting, except was not expecting to be disabled. Hubby is a spender. I take the money and pay what is important first.
So, it is difficult to try to get my several bills paid off as there is no extra money.
So.....long story short....would a wife in California be able to file bankruptcy on her own instead of including the husband?
I am going to check into it, but I have found out i will likely have to pay a fee to get in the door to be told I can't file separately. If I knew I could, then I would not mind seeing a bankruptcy lawyer.
Any ideas or knowlledge thanks for letting me to know. :)

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Most places will work with you as far as small monthly payments. Do you have large debts that you're concerned about?
Your husband is not legally responsible for bills before you were married... he would be considered an "injured spouse." They will try and make him pay but he does not have to. And being disabled they will not go after you.
They won't leave you alone for awhile, but if you stay with the same story, you're not working and have no finances there isn't much they can do...
