Ive got FD in my lower right leg. I got diagnosed with it last year. Had been getting some major 'shin splints' before suffering a horror injury playing football (soccer). After several surgeries I was going through rehabilitation to get back to full fitness, and was trying to push through the pain. I thought it was just from the surgery and I needed to push myself to break through the pain barrier. Ended up back at hospital unable to walk and was then diagnosed with a severe form of FD (luckily isolated to only the one bone.) I dont like drugs in any way shape or form and was always scared of taking something wrong that could jeopardize any chance I had of making it to a professional level. Initially I didnt want anything for the pain once I was diagnosed as I knew I could deal with it however I really just want to finish my sporting life retiring on my own terms. I have returned to training but have had the pains becoming more frequent and severe. I am interested in what others do to manage their pains and what medications I should look at to manage my situation?
