Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I've heard it described as feeling like you've been hit by a truck and that is a pretty good description. Oh and let's not forget the irritable bowel and bladder, anxiety attacks, dizziness and vision problems.
Wow, I'm a mess!
I hope you don't have it but I do believe it is hereditary. My mom had it and I think my kids all have it too. :-(
Now the first thing you need to do is plug your symtoms into a symtom checker online, that way you have a starting point. Good luck!

The thing I learned after being sick for almost 25 very long years is that at least 95% of my pain is myofascial and is now under control since I learned trigger point massage. It's a lot of work, and can be very painful as the trigger points really hurt when touched, but I can honestly say I've gone from being in one degree of pain or another 24/7 for years on end to being relatively painfree about 85% of the time.
The pain in your arms and hands is most likely myofascial pain as is your back pain.
Triggerpoints.net has extensive trigger point and referred pain diagrams that should help you locate the offending trigger points that are causing your pain. Massage them as much as you can stand. If you have an electric massager that works best in my experience.
Another great site is triggerpointbook.com. This book has made all the difference in my life. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Myofascial pain can manifest in dozens of different ways from a dull ache to a burning, throbbing pain. It can affect your ability to breath, make your teeth ache, cause you to be dizzy and cause bloating among other things.
Here's a great article on how trigger points manifest themselves:
