I think the only way to tell is to go off of a pill for a few weeks and see how you feel ...
My only suggestion is that is sure to communicate all of these to whichever doctor manages her pain ... and that she takes a good Multi-Vitamin (not those junk ones like One a Day or Centrum, etc) ..I take Ultra Mega Green from GNC and it is much better than the mass produced ones.

I also have very chemically sensitive and vitamins and supplements have helped me more than any medication ever has. I take a daily multi-vitamin, 2 joint vitamins, and a st. johns wort supplement. I will likely be adding another one next month for digestion health also. I order all of mine online though from a wellness company so that they are more absorbable and i can most definitely feel a difference. i drag badly if i forget to take them.
if she is chemically sensitive another thing to look into is natural cleaners. that was something else that was really hurting me. I was absorbing all of the caustic chemicals from our cleaners and shampoo, laundry detergent, etc. I had to switch my brand of all of those too and that also made a big difference for me.
