Trying yet ANOTHER SSRI. *cries*

Doctor has prescribed several SSRI's over the course of years for the fibro pain, all without much success.  Always get extreme nausea and vomitting, so had to stop.  Now we're trying Lexapro, 5 mg . . . lowest dose . . . and I am so nauseous now, but wait!! There's even more!  Feel jittery, dizzy, tired, confused and even more unfocused, and just not like me.  After one stupid pill last night at dinner!  I think I'm one of those people who cannot tolerate SSRI's.  I'll give this one a go, but if I get to vomiting again, I'll call the doctor and say to hell with this type of drug.  I guess it's not for everyone.



Just venting and feeling sorry for myself.

I"m sorry you are going through this. It sucks. I've only been on one anti-depressant since I've been diagnosed and it's def made me sick when I first started on it (and when they increased the dosage). I totally understand the nausea, dizziness and feeling out of it and hope you feel better soon. I think it just takes time, which SUCKS. Hang in there. I don't know if you like tea, but a cup of mint tea or lemon and ginger tea, always helps me with nausea and feeling out of it. Feel better!

Argh! I feel you. I don't get nausea with the meds I'm on.... I get acid reflux so bad that my esophagus is scarred. Big soft purring support, and just hang in there, and vent away! SSRIs are only okay for about 1/3 of the people anyway, for anything, so don't get too upset if it doesn't work, and if your doc gets too bossy, remind the doc that you're the one who has th enausea. I myself made a point of asking for a barf bag in the doc's office when mine got stubborn about a nausea-inducing med once. *evil grin* Got the point across right quick!

I hear you load and clear, Leo. She seems to think I'll have success with one of them, but so far, this one is the worst! Today is even worse than yesterday, and I have no appetite, and feel like I'm buzzing. Couldn't sleep. Think I'm not reactioning to this well. (Ya think????). We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I have nausea lasting 3 weeks before abating on those type of drugs. I list about 30 lbs but am a large person so no big deal.

I did puke on a docs shoes once when I asked for a bucket and she didn't comply.
