Hi everyone! I have been lurking around for quite some time. But that time helped me to get sufficient information about the Fibromyalgia issue. My brother is facing a similar problem. He had been going through physical and emotional stress for quite some time. He has been feeling pain at numerous pressure points and tiredness to the degree that he finds it difficult to perform everyday activities. He is taking pills to sleep at night, and there are often sleep disturbances. I looked upon the internet and found this special treatment for the condition, but I'm unsure. Is there a proper treatment for this? Can anyone help me out?

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Treatment will vary person to person. Some will respond well to Lyrica, some to LDN, some to something else, so...
Doctors, tests, rule out things that are not fibro, and we aren't medical doctors, and neither is google. We can give anecdotal evidence at best, and we cannot diagnose, nor confirm a treatment for someone, nor would any medical doctor, over the internet.
That said, if you or he or both have been diagnosed with fibro? FIbromyalgia for Dummies is a great start, and not just for patients. Also some doctors, families, freinds, etc. I hope you find healing.
Oh, and "this special treatment" is 99% likely to be bullshit. Speaking from 25 years of experience with fibro.
If you and/or your brother have not seen a doctor to get a firm diagnosis- do it. Fibro is a diagnosis of exclusion. When every other possible cause for chronic widespread pain has been ruled out, Fibro is the culprit. Be sure to ask for/get a sleep study done too during the testing phase. Fibro is a disorder of the central nervous system. The mechanism that causes it is not understood. It is not common in men. Potential triggers are high levels of stress, abuse, an accident, surgery or childbirth.
It is important to get a firm diagnosis. The longer a chronic pain cycle continues, the harder it becomes to manage or stop.
Take care..
