Has anyone taken tramado in combination with Cymbalta and flexeril? I read there is major interactions with Cymbalta and some with flexeril as well. Dr gave it to me to help with pain during the night which keeps me from getting sleep.

Drugs.com lets you check for interactions. I have read tramadol can have major reactions with cymbalta, serotonin syndrome or something like that. Since flexeril is related to an anti depressant may be the same. Wish I could take flexeril as it helped night time pain, but it causes heart issues for me.

I do take tramadol for daily pain, but not at night as it does keep me awake. In well over 20 years it is the only thing that helps.

I was taking tramadol as need (so not necessarily every day) & flexeril at night to sleep. That was ok...but when I started taking one to two tramadol everyday I was told I could still take the flexeril but it wasn't really recommended that I do so. I was taking such a low dose that it should have been fine but it made me uncomfortable.

Call your pharmacist first and foremost. They will know the answer to this question. Don't rely on the internet.

Call a pharmacist for info, and double-check with the prescribing doc(s). I can't take tramadol due to my epilepsy, so can't speak from experience. I disliked flexeril as a rule, and couldn't take Cymbalta.

That said, I have to o the pharmaceutical shuffle often enough to sympathize. Definitely check with the docs.

I've heard from various sources that the concerns over serotonin syndrome are overblown...and yet, I feel it's best to be informed and conservative.... I take Ultram daily because, oddly enough, it's effective for my neuropathy. I've taken tramadol with cymbalta, pristiq, and now Lexapro.

I take Tramadol as needed, and Flexeril as needed, and quite often on the same days.

I haven't had any problems. I didn't even know there was a possible problem taking them at the same time.

I currently take 12 prescription drugs a month, so perhaps I'm lucky that I don't have reactions!!!

I have taken tramadol for years. It's a long acting medication, so I take it twice a day, morning and night. I have not noticed any problems sleeping, well nothing out of the usual.

I took Cymbalta for about a year and ended up getting diabetes, which is one of THOSE SIDE EFFECTS. I am pretty sure it was the Cymbalta that caused it because I've had genetic testing and only have a 16% chance of getting it. How can I possibly be THIS lucky. Lucky with fibro, lucky with diabetes??? Because of this, I never recommend Cymbalta. Too dangerous and it's not THAT good. Not good enough to risk another major disease.
