Hi Everyone,
I'm Achybones22. I have been away for awhile and now forgot my password, so I had to register again as Achybones23.
Anyway, overall, I'm doing better. I started swimming again, and my widespread pain disappeared. Miraculous! (But my concentrated localized pain of my neck is still there.)
Also, my anxiety level decreased substantially due to hypnosis therapy. What a difference after only 2 to 3 sessions!
Now, my problem is tooth pain. It's been for over 6 months now. This particular tooth (and the one directly above it), hurt upon biting only. And very sensitive to heat and cold. I've been to several dental specialists (including periodontist and endodontist) and they all said it is not a dental problem--nothing is wrong with my teeth.
So, I'm wondering if this has to do with fibro. Does anyone know of such a connection? And what can be done about it?

OK, first thing is.... cranial nerves can mess with our jaws and cause pain, and there's also the chance that you have something going on that's "hiding". Did they do any dental X-rays, etc? Also, TMJ will cause clenching and then your teeth get sore, especially if they're not in good alignment (as I know too well!).
And if you have neck issues, check about cervical nerves.
That's all I can think, b/c I've done it.
Hope it helps, glad you're swimming and it's helping!
Dental x-rays were done, and showed no problem with teeth.
I do have a misaligned jaw/TMJ and CT scans were recently done. But if the misalignment is the problem, then why is it just that one tooth upon biting (and the one directly above it)?? I would think it'd hurt a bigger area.
The TMJ doctor (DDS) suggested a teeth appliance (a splint that you put in your mouth, like a night guard, but does more) as a first try. It is the least invasive way for now. However, it'd cost me almost $3000. Insurance would not cover.
I am seeing a physical therapist for my neck issues. I got whiplash recently from a rear end car accident. But the teeth pain started prior to this.
I've always been sensitive to hot and cold but the pain was new and it was going on for at least a year. When I came to the dentist in Feb they 1st thought it was an old filling on that tooth that needed fixing. Then months later in Jul they said I needed a root canal. When the pain kept getting worse they finally did a CT scan and in Oct and did oral surgery. The problem with me was the root of my tooth wasn't properly seated in my jaw bone and the tip was poking out of the bone. So they had to shave the tip down and drill a hole in my jawbone for the tooth to fit right. At least that's what they explained to me. I only remember chiseling and cracking sounds. Ugh.
Good luck! I hope you get some answers!
Leo, What did they do to fix your pain?
I was away from the forum for a while. Just want to let you all know what happened with the teeth pain situation. I am fine now.
I finally got insurance issues sorted out so that I began seeing the TMJ doctor (dentist) early 2017. Turns out it was the misalignment of my jaw that caused all this pain--trigeminal neuralgia. At one point it got so bad that I felt like I need to go to the ER! Then I noticed that if I do a particular neck stretch lying on the floor, then the pain temporarily went away--as long as I held that position.
Anyway, the TMJ doc finally did a customized mouth splint for me to wear every night which pushes my lower jaw forward. I has been almost a year now and I am pain free.
Thank you all for your suggestion and concern.
