Wonder - I didn't put this on the weekend check in
because my internet was down all day Sunday and into part of the evening.
Regarding the cone - my dog did not tolerate the usual plastic cone of shame - she freaked anytime it was on. So , I got her a different type from a quality pet store and it worked well - unfortunately we have had to use it many times. You blow it up and the dog collar goes into small straps on the inside and the outside has a Velcro attachment. It's kinda like a neck inner tube . More of the dogs face shows and they can get drinks of water and even eat with it on - but we always took it off for meals.

Thanks so much for posting this. I'll have to check and see if Petsmart/PetCo sells these. We don't have any other pet supply places around (except boutiques).
The e-collar really did a number on the poor pooch, he still is afraid of me, yet he wants to cuddle, he's just beside himself on what to do.
He's the only guy slated for surgery today at the vet, so he will get their full attention. Which I like.
Thank you all for your well wishes. I'll keep you posted. He's such a love, and he's already been neutered, so I know he will handle the anesthesia well. Just gotta keep him from gnawing at his foot. Both the pain meds/antibiotics did help some by late Saturday. He wasn't licking it as much.
Thanks again for the suggestion, we're willing to try anything to help him.
Just got the call from the vet, Tank did well.
Oh and I did find the inflatable e-collar thingy. We'll have to swing by and get one later for him.
