For some reason I am unable to message you. It sickens me you were treated this way by a judge. I am wondering isnt there some way that a judge has to be held accountable for their behavior- his responses to you would be on the court record. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. You are not a criminal- you have an illness. If the decision is decided by a judge who treats a person like that I would think your chances are not in your favor- and I am not trying to make you feel bad or be negative.
I was also a nurse. I was told while waiting for my hearing for disability that many judges dont believe in fibro and will be mean about it during the hearing. I got lucky and had a judge that treated me respectfully- but if I had not gotten lucky and was treated the way you were, I probably would of lost it emotionally right there in the hearing.
Anyhow, ask your lawyer. I dont think anyone is above being held accountable for their actions- even a judge. If a Dr treated us that way- we would get a different Dr. IDK- would contacting a congress person, senator, or governor be helpful?

These hearings are often presided over by an administrative law judge (ALJ) and they are usually appointed - less accountability than if they were elected, but there are political issues behind either method of getting to the bench.
I'm not sure either if disability hearings occur in a "court of record." Not all courts keep transcripts of the proceedings - some only keep records of the decisions once the hearing is over. I'm sure the written decision will be much more "professional" than the judge who was such a butthole.
Making a decision we don't agree with is one thing - abusing someone because they have applied for disability is quite another. It's like treating everyone who applies for welfare as if they were automatically a drug-using, baby-making deadbeat.
I wish there was a cure for buttholes - but they usually get to go on about their lives while leaving hurt and damage in their wake.
Finding out who appointed them and sending a letter - and maybe filing a complaint with the local Bar Association - are about the only options usually for this kind of thing. Lawyers/judges are "self-regulating" and you know how well that works with doctors - they all protect each other.
Sadly, the lawyers all go out to lunch together after court no matter which side they were "officially" on in the courtroom.
I don't think that they are elected or even keep good records of these proceedings. It was not in a court house, only a private room with me, my lawyer, the vocational expert, and someone that worked the computers for the judge to see the evidence presented.
I get that they do not want to give anyone help, and that some people abuse the system making it hard for the rest of us that deserve it, but this was tantamount to being a liar and fake until proven otherwise. It was terrible, but after passing out today and resting since then, I feel better mentally.
After it was over, my lawyer came out and told my daughter what the judge had said and they just shook their head and held me as I cried. Apparently this is his MO and I don't know if there is a thing you can do about it.
My lawyer had told me last week and last month that we drew a bad judge so she knew how he treats people. She told me he comes out swinging and give it right back, but how can we when we are so sick in spirit and body?

My doctor told me that it is harder to get disability if you have worked or have college because they see that you can do many things in allied fields, but I never really understood how much they don't want to help us who have paid in all our lives. It is awful and heartbreaking and mentally taxed me to the limit. I am so thankful that part is over and am praying for a quick decision but why would he? He is in control...
