Hello, all. I'm trying not to panic any more than usual so I am asking for feedback from those of you

who have been denied twice for SSDI, and are now in the hearing stage,

or were denied twice then had a hearing,

THE QUESTION IS: How long have you been waiting/or did you wait between second denial and the actual hearing???

My husband is at that stage right now he applied originally 2 years ago. He was last denied in jan of this year his hearing was set for 11/22 but they postponed it so he could get a lawyer. It is now going to be in february.

i was only denied once. the 2nd time was approved and i think it was the neuropsych eval that got me approved. it took about 1 year total from the 1st application. the back pay was like $11,000. was awesome. now i just gotta keep fighting the VA. they have denied me twice. and i've been fighting them since early 2006! i even sent them all the SSDI records to back me up but they still denied me. buttholes!!

You know what make sure you put the depression issues in there....I think she is right most of our cases get won on the psyche side of fibro not the pain...

Wow...two years? Both the VA and the SS gave me 100% disability in 6 months!

wow. I have been denied 3 times.. 3.. and the last time I had my doc write them a whole page saying it was his medical opinion that I could not work at any job!!! think they threw that in the shredder.. sigh.. mine was ssi.. so im done now.. I have filled out all that flippin paperwork 3 times.. and only got a mental eval. which in my eyes I failed.. and felt dumb as a box of rocks. but didnt get a disability doc to even look at me. and they just say'd DENIED.. kinda a sore subject with me.. sigh.. no lawyers in my area that do SSI.. didnt have enough work time in for ssd. so.. im done with it.. sad.. Had a freind of mine get approved.. and the next winter he was up on his roof shoveling snow off of it.. wanted to scream.. !!!!.. that is our system.. uhgg. good luck hun.. hope someone gets it. and I cheer when someone does.. hugs. :)

I had my 2nd denial in January. I still don't have my ALJ hearing date. My attorney thinks it may be next Feb, but there is no way to know for sure.

I have had 3 different docs write and say I'm disabled. I don't know what there f..ing problem is.

I originaly filed in May of 06.

I just applied this summer and went to a PT to be tested on how functional am. They said I maybe able to do a sit down job. Dec. 4th I will be going to the doctor that they are having me see. At their expense. They even pay for the gas going and retuning. These visits scare me to death. I'll let you know what happens. Take Care and Gentle Hugs, snowdays

I am not qualified for either - looked into it the year I couldn't work - but I learned a lot about the process. If they decide you can do any kind of work they will deny the claim - even if you are not qualified for that kind of work, or no work of that kind is available in your area.

I specifically asked a disability attorney if they took that into account, and he said "never - not at all - availability of work is not something the look at."

How lame is that? So...I could DO it...but it doesn't exist...so...WTF?
