After extreme disappointment with the treatment I've received at the Fibro and Fatigue Center (I'm significantly *worse* than when I started with them three years ago and their careless treatments have caused serious complications...not to mention drained about $15,000), I'm thinking of trying the Holtorf Medical Group.

Has anyone been treated by one of their centers?

That is so sad! I am sorry they weren't able to help you. I don't know anything about either of these places but can you tell me what complications you have and what caused them? My doctor has me on natural supplements and I thought that was what the Fibro center did as well.

Hi Dana,
I have been going to Hortolf Medical Group for close to 5 years. They have helped me a lot. They are very expensive to, but for me it has been well worth it.

I did a little research on Dr. Holtorf after looking at his treatment model. As I suspected, he was formerly the Medical Director/Advising Physician of the Fibro/Fatigue Centers. It doesn't look like you will get very different treatment and pay the same amount. I have been to Fibro Centers years ago and spent money I didn't have. I am not a fan just because its a huge for profit business using very sick people. I have yet to find an option for those who are only on medicare and fixed or limited income. They may help some who have the funds to pay for it. Best of luck.

Thanks to those who have replied so far. Jon, I'm glad the center has been able to help you.

I know the Fibro and Fatigue Center has a similar protocol to the Holtorf Center. However, my huge problem is with the FFC business model. The charge a ton of money and (especially recently) seriously restrict the time the doctors can speak to or see patients. I have a very complex case, therefore no one has been able to devote any significant time to putting it together. I've gotten worse as they tried to treat my symptoms piecemeal.

At this point I'd do almost anything to just start over and have someone look at the WHOLE picture.

My appointments are usually a half an hour with the doctor, they are very comprehensive, and not piece meal at all. The last set of blood tests found hyper coagulation, so I am now trying to clean up the blood with Heparin. I don't know how the satellite offices will work though, but they should follow his same model.
