Heljlo, I'm back! Wi-fi restored as of 0700!
They're done blasting. A week of this for... postholes? Essentially, yes. THey should really just make rock walls around here. We've got the rock to spare. But some folks down the road suffered damage to their homes from debris. Damage, btw, is "food wrappers and stubbed out cigarettes". How dainty of them!

Monday is Columbus Day AKA Mourning for The Indigenous Day. If you iknow, you know. If you don't, read between meals and not befgore bed. Disease, slavery, pillage, ra*e, the Spaniards had it all, closely followed by the Portuguese, English, and French. (The Germanic folks were busy in Africa, stealing lives and selling them to the above. Ah, the "Renaissance". Great time to not be anywhere near Europe, actually, Or Europeans.)
realistically, Columbus got lucky. October is hurricane sseason in the Caribbean. That he didn't end up missing is rather interesting, along with his insistence he reached the INdies. (This was purely financial. No funding if he fuc*ed up. Also, he didn't find gold. Ironically, darned near any other conquistador got super wealthy off gold, silver, gems, furs, slavery, etc., but not Columbus.)
In fact, We're not even sure where he's buried. Spain? New World? Italy? Take your pick. He may have actually been Swiss for all we know. Welcome to the fifteenth century... Good luck!
DNA testing, btw, says that remains in Spain match descendants of Christopher's known brother Diego, but that's about all we've got. Highly likely but not 100%. Why? People back then mght have themselves buried different places. "My heart in Santiago de Compostela, my bones in old Cologne!" sort of thing. Next thign you knwo, multiple tombs. Or, you died in war and they put up tombs later, so your body is probably flong since worm food.

We are married!!!! 10/10/2026!!! More photos will be in my journal than on here but will share a few! Also our flower dog did a great job!I will say I am in the worst pain flare imaginable! Friday and Saturday really drained me physically

I woke up exhausted. Too many demands on my time and brain in general. The plan today is to get the dog crate wiped down and set up. And, get the film on the living room slider. If any of that or all of it happens, that would be great. The slider is always difficult to cover and make the film as tight as possible. Fingers crossed.
I'm now off until Tuesday. Lots to do around here so we'll see how things go in terms of winterizing and I have to get the robot litter box in my car delivered to my client. I refuse to haul it up the stairs.
Leo - Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated this weekend. I'm glad that you are back on line!
Miki - Congratulations on the raise! Every little bit helps. Sounds like Miki is holding her own for the moment. That's good! Be safe going home.
AngelaJo's wedding is tomorrow!
Waves!
