Just one little suggestion: You can buy yourself a little time in making such a major decision about your mom's housing by temporarily using in home help. You can get someone on a hourly basis just to handle the tasks that are hardest for you or your mom. Also, most cities have "Meals on Wheels".
I hope you make it through your medical test gauntlet this next week, and come out with good results!
No real advice. Just wanted you to know I sympathize/empathize with you!
I hope things smooth out soon in a positive way!
Take care.
I don't really have any great advice either, except to just say I'm thinking of you. Also, try to take care of yourself. The extra stress can throw you into a flare, so try to rest when you can.
Hugs,
Elizabeth
Sister nor brother came to the funeral, they both saw her during her last month and that was enough for them. The funeral and grieving was very hard on me, and my live at home, son.
My sister couldn't help at all. Wouldn't empty the bed pain. Said she didn't know how. So, me, with fibro roaring, did all the care with husband's help. Loved her so much! I wasn't much help, still so ill myself. Now that I can sleep, I function much better.
Look for a sleep specialist. Ask re: Xyrem. Used for narcolepsi, very good for insomnia. Finally can turn off my brain! and get good sleep.
She has Medicare and a good supplement so the short stay rehab is taken care of. For the future we are just going day to day. The nurses and people at the hospital have been very kind and telling me to take care of what I need to and they will take care of Mom. I have a friend who checks on her every day I can't.
