Interviewed a new PCP today to treat fibro and medical issues and I think I like her. She didnt know what fibro fog was ( boo ) but said she would look it up (yeah). She believes in fibro and understands the weird symptoms that come with it and other problems that come with it like costochondritis etc, and treats other patients with it. My guess is that she is in her early 30s.
So I think I will give her a chance- ya know see how it goes. She will be reviewing my records before my next appt. Best of all I didnt leave there feeling bad - like my former primary IDIOT Dr always manages to make me feel.
Lots of appts this week for me. Another sleep study tomorrow night. Another pain clinic appt Friday - I have decided if they dont come up with something helpful with my back issues that I am done with them. They are all about injections and they have not helped me. Also they are working off an MRI from 31/2 years ago - the Dr said if the last shot doesnt help he would consider ordering one - I plan on bugging him to order one. They are not helpful with pain meds - it is not what they do, yet they are a pain clinic.

My doc is about the same age. I'm teaching her and its a slow process. LOL She gets really stuck on what they teach in medical school. I bring reputable articles for her to read. There are pros and cons with her but I just stand my ground with her and I usually win.
If you find someone that has some knowledge, you can share info and work together to find an acceptable treatment plan. You are very wise to take charge of your own healthcare. I think this is the most important thing we can do to insure we are living the best we can be!
Take charge!! I hope she works out for you. I'm glad you have a good feelin' about her. The best Dr. in the world couldn't heal if they make you feel lower than dirt.
