Until that happened, I swore that the meds and what I ate have absolutely NO impact on my health and wouldn't have believed I could improve so much had it not happened to me.
I was in an abusive relationship, my kids father, over 20 yrs ago. Not until about 12 yrs ago, things started really changing physically. I was very active, weight under control and such but within these past 4 yrs all hell broke loose with the FM pain.
I have been in a beautiful, healthy relationship with a man I adore greatly, poor guy has had to deal with my symptoms the entire relationship. Lots of ups and downs with FM, huh? Learning how to manage the pain fluctuations with oneself is hard I think. One minute I'm fine with taking my meds, next I want to throw them out cuz I'm not feeling to bad anymore.
My dh lost his job about 2 wks ago and I think a lot of that initial stress hit me like a bomb on friday. I came home from work feeling like I was run over by a steam roller and then thrown at a brick wall doing 80mph. I could barely move.
I noticed this weekend, distracting myself with planning my parents 50th anniv. dinner with my family gave me a great energy, less awareness of any aches/pains. So I guess those are good vibes! :-)

You might also consider the empty nest - parental freedom remission. No kidding. Those little buggers can drain the life out of you. When they grow up and begin to make their own way, independent of you, the decrease in stress is immense.
I guess, unless they move back home with adult problems. So far, I've been fortunate in that department.

I am gonna be waiting a loong time for empty nest syndrome.... got a 7yo and plan on one with my new partner if I get healthier. I was doing alright til I got hit with the flu... but if I can't live without the meds.. no more new ones for me, I've already had one child with a birth defect (completely random and not severe), no way I am raising the chances of having another one.
... But something I can look forward to in my 50's..... Oh God, it sounds soooo long away
