I will include a link so you guys can research even more.

We need to not just listen to or be intimidated by an authority figure like a doctor, it is our responsibility to do research on our own, as there is much they wont tell you.
best wishes
I am not one who stays in fight or flight mode - just in pain, so I don't think this fits well for me, but thanks for the info!
Some doctors (mine included) seem to be a bit "put out" or dismissive when I ask them about something I've seen on the internet. Anyone have that experience? If so, what did you do about it?
Of course, I know I shouldn't take anything -even over the counter stuff - with all the meds I'm already on without asking my doctor. Thanks for the link, Necie and thanks Seagully for the licorice idea.
Fortunately, my GP now expects me to check on things. I told him last visit how much I appreciated him and he said..."I'm not telling you anything you don't already know."
I question a doctor that doesn't want you to educate yourself.
Seems like everything impacts on every darn thing doesn't it?? :(
Licorice root produces estrogen-like effects, stabilizing the menstrual cycle. It is good for the digestive system, supporting the healthy function of the kidneys, liver and bladder. Licorice root heals and restores the function of the adrenal glands, helping to ease depression and chronic fatigue. Licorice also contains potassium, calcium, phytosterol, coumarin, lecithin, protein, magnesium, silicon (necessary for the formation of collagen for bones and connective tissue), thiamine, and Vitamins B and E. Its anti-inflammatory properties extend to both internal and external parts of the body.
Those who get miffed or outright pissed because you did homework, scare me.
Point = Vioxx = class action lawsuits then pulled off the market due to lack of testing.
Do the research and read everything, not just the good parts but the ill side effects as well.
Be an informed patient who is in charge of their care. Doctor's work for you, not visa versa.
