Yes, I have had painful legs, pain radiating thru my legs as you described.
Do you have a bathtub?
What I suggest is to soak your legs in bathtub of water as warm or hot as you feel comfort. The bathtub water needs to have "Epsom Salts" as this bath salt helps reduce swelling & muscle pain in the legs.
Soak in the tub until you feel so relief.
Then, get out of bathtub, get into bed with heating pad around your legs. What also helps is Bengay, or Aspercream, or Blue Mineral Ice on your legs, then wrap each leg with ace bandage.
Hope this helps you feel some relief.
Since I am prone to leg pain I wear ace bandage like Jobst support heavy stocking on each leg before I go out for activities. I have to wear these stockings when I drive a car.
Lastly, since I may get leg calf cramps at night I try to drink more water during the day. Drinking more water in the AM seems to help prevent calf muscle leg cramps.
