My infectious disease doc says that CFS is the disease and FM is the physical reaction to the trauma of CFS. People get FM after surgeries, concurrent with Lyme, MS, Lupus, RA, Thyroid disease and just about anything traumatic like that.
So, maybe the FM is the body's reaction or the effects of the Pain.
I've been thinking about this with my headache. When I cough, it feels like someone is drilling a screw into my forehead above my left brow. Naturally, I Cringe.
The actual pain lasts maybe 10-15 minutes but the Cringe lasts for about a 1/2 hour, so coughing every 15 minutes means a never-ending Cringe. Soon the pain from the Cringe surpass the pain of the brain screw.
These are just ideas I have rattling around in my brain.
Removing stress and relaxing might be just the thing for FM.
unduki- hope the headache goes away soon. A screw ibeing drilled into the forehead sounds terribly painful.
