Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I don't know what you have tried in the past or what medications you may have tried or what doctors you may have seen. Whoever diagnosed you should be able to advise you on this.
I work with an integrative medical doctor who is trained in prescribing prescriptions and Natural medicine. I believe in taking a multifaceted approach and use a lot of the techniques listed below. I am gluten free, and am on the anti-candida diet and take the anti-fungals. I follow the diet in the book "The Fungus Link" by Doug Kaufman. He also has a talk show and website called: Know the Cause. Through my research I found that candida overgrowth can co-exist with fibromyalgia and make symptoms worse. There are even many health care professionals who believe that any with fibro be treated for candida as well. I get weekly massages, do aqua therapy in a heated pool and use hot tubs, heated blankets, pain creams, Epsom salt soaks and essential oils. I also listen to meditative CD's and have recently started a gentle yoga routine. My daily pain levels were 8-10 and now they are between 2-3; and some days I feel "close to normal". I still have sleep issues, stiffness, and periodic flare-ups, but I am much better than before. You can message me any time you like with any questions.
