I agree 100%!~ NEW OWNERS please LISTEN and lock all older posts. Better yet, delete anything over 3 months.

Ooooops, sorry DDntn, the baby is ok - I read the heading and misunderstood.

It was someone that is fairly new to the board that brought these old topics up. I have sent a message and explained that she needed to look at the dates. She realized once she posted that it was old.....and wishing now she could retract it.

I've asked her to please hang in there with us and to ride out any negative messages or posts she might get. And she understands.

Remember, guys.....we were new at one time too.

well since most posts are fairly new, I am sure many folks are not thinking to double check the date, regardless if they are new people or not.

I dont think we have the power to delete our own posts...but I dont know

I really hope the new owners realize this is a huge problem that DS never addressed. It's so freakin' annoying and I always feel bad for those new people that don't realize the dates.

Oh yea, it would be great if the new owners made the DATE bigger too! LOL

I can only vouch for virgila. She does understand the whys and why nots of pulling up these old posts. And understands that once done, is forever on this board....as much as we have protested. She will be very careful in the future.

I was fooled by the dates too....I am still rather new here and frankly assumed things on the 1st page or even close to the front page were new to be responded to...

For DDntn...I am so sorry for all of your losses and I am sorry if these resurfacing threads upset you all over again. You do not need that. Again...I am so sorry, I did not realize the losses you suffered. My condolences go out to you.

The last time I sent a message to a new member she pounced on me and thrashed me verbally, then came to the main board and posted a thread to tell people how badly she had been treated.

The Only one that REALLy Tripped me Up...was when an Old post of carrie68 came up...my heart about come OUT of my chest !!

yes, there have been several older posts again...this is a DS Problem, new members don't know that some of these old posts are quite bothersom, or perhaps even that they are OLD !!

I lost my best friend recently - and she was here. An old post came up not long after she died (11/09/2008) and it both startled me and broke my heart to see her avatar and read her words when the pain of losing her was still so raw.

I don't understand why they don't get that. I'm not the first, and I won't be the last. I can only imagine how those who have lost friends to suicide must feel, and that happens here more than in the general population, because we have several communities of seriously depressed people.

It hurts - it hurts bad - why don't they get that?
