I'm sorry can't answer about BP. I do know that my PCM put me on a beta blocker in the summer b/c his words, "I'm afraid you might have a heart attack". Seems my resting heart rate averaged 110. It's down now thank goodness. Wanted to ask, do you have a Fibro friendly Dr in Salt Lake City? Is there one you could recommend. I see this guy at Hill AFB and while he tries we just seem to butt heads too often. Hope someone comes along with a better answer to your question. Take care, Musta
Yes, my pulse hits 150-170 sometimes from the pain. My BP has been as high as 220/115.
On the Chronic Pain group here on DS, there is a post today "A Little Advice..." , there you will find a reply from "jjc..." she posted 2 links regarding pain. The 2nd one has a section on the heart and how pain affects it.
I have constant pain, no break. I was in a 2nd car wreck this year 3 weeks ago and now my pain is staying at a 9. My heart is enlarged, I have extra beats, etc. I am now on a beta-blocker.
If you can't find it PM me and I will try and copy the links for you.
Take care, RJ

I can't say I have a good fibro doctor here in Salt Lake. My doc is part of IHC. She's open minded and does give me most meds I ask ask for. The trick is to train your doctor, be honest with them, and bring a summary sheet of what or how you modified your treatments. I must say she is pretty understanding and she agreed to be my pain management doctor. Sad thing is that she's leaving in March which means I must break in a new doc.
Doc just switched my Beta Blocker to another one and It's not doing any better than the last one. Raised blood pressure seems pretty common amongst chronic pain patients.
Thanks for the info RJ.
