My dad EATS Morphine like candy,,the " only " side effect he has ,,he gets tired a lot and Chronic constipation ..he always have to take something for that problem,,other than that he said he couldn't survive without them.
thanks for your reply Josie63 :)
Nope we all don't want to be addicted ..my Dad says hes not ,,some Doctors here say u can get addicted-- others say NO u can not,,one of my Dotors said ,,so what ,,if u get addicted ,,u need to take them for the rest of ur life anyways and Morphine has less side effects than some regular Painkiller u can buy at Walmart..
but at least both say u can get addicted ,,,
I was only given t3, and don't feel adicted. Its the pain I've been going through that makes me think I do need something stronger. I am only relaxed when I take something for the pain and now my DOC said she wont support me with a drug regimine she wants soemthing better.
Anyways, I hope this helps.
I never meant to start any debate on addiction vs dependance etc. I just want to know whats working for people. I would say I am dependant on tramadol at the moment. Being realistic I am.. I get nervous when the pill bottle is getting low. I take it almost every day.. but some days if I don't need it I don't take it. I'd call that dependance. I don't start shaking or having withdrawals etc if I don't have it daily.. nor am I on an ever increasing dose.... but I wouldn't want to be without it for any length of time.

It made me beddrid even more always sleeping when it kicked in!
i still use the patch only on bad flares!@bedtime only!
if you already take opids you can use the patch this way!
i would take it off every 2-4hrs & go 2-4hrs then put it back on! keep it in packit & closed tight might need to use tape to hold it back on!
Don't just stop it can withdrawl unless you take pill form too!for back-up pain!
i detoxed off everything very slowly one @atime! cause i felt like a pill box w/on benifit except becoming a addict!
only taking norco 1/2 twice aday or as needed w/ other on baddddd flare days!
I'm dependent on potassium and blood pressure meds, but I was addicted to Lyrica. This is chemical. I've been psychologically dependent on Tramadol - freaking out because my prescription ran out when actually, I did better once I got off that train. (it's a synthetic opioid - no wonder.)
So, I take Requip. If I don't take it every night, my legs start jumping and I won't get any sleep. Am I addicted or dependent?
For pain I take Bosswellia, get some capsaicin in my diet (chili peppers) and I make sure to move every day. My movement choices are yoga and tai chi - though if you saw me, it wouldn't look anything like what goes on in a class. I also ingest MMJ
Right now, I have very little pain, overall. I have two problem areas - my head and my upper arms - for some reason, my arms have gone weak.
For my head, I'm careful how I bend over and do certain things. For my arms, I massage them every now and then and pay particular attention to stretching in that area. It should pass soon.
