So they finally did some medical tests on me. Just routine stuff. They came back abnormal. Next step is more invasive tests. They are looking for two types of cancer at this point. My right leg pain could be a symptom of one, not an orthopedic problem. And I am still waiting to see if I have progressive eye disease. And there seems to be a neurologic problem. So I have tests every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this month except over Thanksgiving.
Then last Thursday my Husband's department at work was eliminated. He was absorbed into another department "for now." I really want to rush tests, because I will likely need surgery and possibly chemo. I am afraid he will be laid off and we will lose insurance.
And my family and close friends are really getting irritated at my spouse. He has not been really helpful in my care to begin with. He has left almost all appointments etc up to my Mom. He even will wake me up when I am sleeping to watch TV or work out! And he has no clue where simple things like the bills that are due or the dogs medicines are kept. Several times Mom has stopped him from giving me things you cant use in combination. Now we face life or death decisions, and he seems really incapable of even having conversation about it.
Aggressive treatment will leave me unable to bear children. We are both in our 40s and he has refused to discuss children in all the time we have been married. After I started with Fibromyalgia I figured that was OK, because I don't know how the parents on this board deal, kids take a lot of energy! Now guess what he wants?
Several people have told me to appoint someone else my POA. One person said I may need to split from him to make the decisions best for me. I just can't believe after abnormal test results we have to wait a month for follow up tests.
