Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

You may want to find a support group in your area. http://www.fmcpaware.org/support-groups/browse-support-groups.html?sid=54:Support-Groups
Our "go-to" book is "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" for coping, for educating family and friends, and just getting a clue for ourselves.
Everything about FM sadly seems to vary from one to another, for what works or doesn't, but DS Fibro has been a consistent help for me:-)
Check us out on Check-in. We do one here for years and years---I'm "posting" it now but it was here long beforeI did it, and if I'm "out", someone else does it. We check in, we update, we share tales, or we just lurk and see how everyone else is doing. Come one, come all:-) It's a nice way to get acquainted.
It's a way to stay connected to each other, give support when needed and listen to our own kind of crazy, that only fibro warriors understand. Lol.
Welcome to the group! I have been here since 2008 on and off. I don't work either and my husband works very long hours. Yes it can get pretty lonely. The key is to plug your self into a place with groups (eg: support groups, art group, music group, etc) or like a church that has social activities so you don't get too lonely.
I attend support groups at the VA once a week, one for chronic pain and one is a music group (learned to play the ukulele when I was bed ridden a lot). I also try to attend some social things at a nearby church I can walk to (half a block down) and made a few friends there. I try to go to their Bible studies and pot lucks. Sometimes I'll just go over to a friend's place either from church or the VA and play music with them. lol
Hope you find some good company soon! Hugs....
Pretty sure there isn't one person who has fibro that hasn't felt some loneliness from time to time, especially those of us who aren't able to work and don't get out much to socialize either. Thankfully we can all come here and find other people like us who understand just how it feels, support us when things are tough to deal with, and can help us have some fun every now and then and take our minds off how awful we are feeling. If you're feeling up for being out, then be out with friends and family and get involved in things you can handle doing... but if you can't, then there's always this group and other member groups, both ones devoted to fibro and ones that focus on other interests that you can find friends in and support from.
Best wishes for some low pain days for all! Hugs...
