Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
That's not normally something you'd see with fibromyalgia but it's definitely a symptom that needs evaluation.
I have what's called an "intention" tremor when I tighten my right hand to lift even a coffee cup, but it's not related to fibromyalgia, it's just my personal weirdness. Mine happens to fall under the category of "essential tremor" and is unrelated to any underlying illness.
Some tremors are symptomatic of something else, some just "are," but that's something only a doctor can help you figure out.
Hand tremors can be symptoms of very serious side effects sometimes seen with some anti-depressants, anti-seizure, etc meds (the kinds of things that tend to be adjusted and used for Fibro.) Hopefully it's nothing, but new and unusual tremors are something you want to immediately report to your doctor if you're on that kind of med.
I don't want to freak you out- tremors can be caused by all sorts of things, including anxiety, fatigue, probably the fibro just doing its thing- but I know too many people who have permanent disabilities resulting from side-effects of meds, so I'm of the opinion that it's better to check than ignore.
If you change your arm position does it change the degree of shaking?
Of course I'm not a med. doc, just thinking of distinctions you should discuss with your doc. Also talk to your pharmacist about known side effects and interaction effects of drugs. Sometimes adverse reactions to a med are very delayed in on set. (Years ago I took Robaxin for 4 months before it started screwing up my heart. If I had kept taking it, it might have been fatal.)
Vote #6 for getting it checked out by someone w/ specialized knowledge.
Hugs to you. I hope you get more clarity soon. And I especially hope your shaking just goes away.
Now I just try to get through the day by day troubles. I'm tired, irritable, and depressed from losing my eldest boy. I never imagined life would be this hard, I must have been so naive. Once you lose your health, each day is a challenge. I remember being too tired as a child even. I didn't know that embry boards didn't hurt everyone else.
