Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I'm not sure what help and insight you're looking for, but I hope you can find it here.
Having fibro will continue to be a lonely, tough road unfortunately. I'd recommend working hard to keep the important friendships and let go of the ones that are just too taxing and ultimately do not matter so much to you. True friends will do what they can to keep being a part of your life but make sure they're aware how much they matter to you too and explain what you are going through; you can only hope keeping your friendship will matter to them too and they will do what they can to keep it going.
I'd suggest poking around the site - check out the member groups, not just the regular site support groups, and see if there are any that suit your interests and not just ones where people are all "woe is me" over their ailments; I mean, pity parties have their place, but you don't want to wallow too much or it will really depress you, so find a group or two that can help keep your spirits up too. There are plenty of upbeat friend groups, groups that focus on humor, groups that are devoted to all sorts of games. I run a group devoted to music (called I Love Music) and another that's devoted to tv, films, and pop culture (called That's Entertainment!) and if either of those things interest you, you are more than welcome to join them (that goes for anyone reading this, for that matter). Eventually you will come to feel like you've exhausted all the insight you can get with regard to the illness, but you'll still want the friendships and the outlet to connect with people without having to just focus on how cruddy you feel. At least, that's my experience.
Best wishes and big hugs, Tess
Read around as much as you want, participate when you feel like it. Questions, comments, inspirational words, venting on the bad days. It's all good here.
Welcome again.
