I have had alot of ear infections from the time I was a baby to now. I did have my tonsils out not sure when I think it was about 7 years ago and as an adult it is extemly painful. It is probably extemly painful for a child too but I've been told it is better to have it done as a child. My PCP's son is only 2 and just had it done. I don't know if it would have prevented the ear infections but it may have and the constant pressure of the tonsils swelling and putting pressure on the eustachian tube could have damaged mine. I'm not a doctor but I would talk to them again about having this done.
I hope others can give you some advice too.

I don't have children maybe they could offer better advice.

I have four grown kids, two of which needed their tonsils and adnoids out because of enlargement. If it were me, I would not wait. This most likely will keep happening, and a tonsillectomy is so much easier on the child the younger they are. This is just my opinion, but I would definitely schedule with an ENT and see what they say.
Hugs :)
How is that little girl doing? When I was growing up it seemed like everyone had their tonsils out. It was run of the mill. I don't see why they don't do that because it sure would help the poor little thing.
I have a step grand baby who just turned 5 and she is having all kinds of problems too. They've got tubes in the ears and I think the tonsils are about to go.
Can you take her to a different doc and get a second opinion?
