Yes Muscle spasms/twitching are the bane of my life. I've tried baclofen, orphenadrine and valium for it. I like valium best since it works on my tmj but yes definately I'd say thats one of your symptoms of fibro.

P.S. I have 4 Rat Terriers, so that explains my nickname. LOL

I get these - mostly in my back and calfs, sometimes my feet or the muscles between my waist and breasts. (huh?)

I take calcium (in a gel cap) just before bed and it helps some. It got really bad for awhile so I was taking Soma. I stopped the Soma because long term use can cause severe headaches and I was having some doozies - but it worked well while it lasted. I can take Valium but doctors are hesitant to prescribe.

Now, I'm having to be constantly conscious about the tightness in my back between my shoulder blades.

My physical therapist gave me some exercises to do in that area and for now, it's working well enough. I also do some yoga. Gotta work out the toxins.

When my legs cramp up at night, I either get out of bed and walk a few steps or push against the bedposts until it goes away. Sometimes I'm too asleep to stand up. I take Ambien CR and it really knocks me out.

Yes I get the spasms too.

Sometimes when the meds aren't helping I try a nice warm bath to ease the muscles. Sometimes it works - sometimes only while I'm in it, but any relief is better than none.

Ohhh yes. I take 10mg of Flexiril a night in order to prevent this from happening and to help with morning stiffness. It does tend to make me a bit irritable, but I'll take that to be able to move in the morning.

I had them so bad in my neck that it would wake me and I would have to go and do traction

I've also had them pretty bad in my middle back

I've taken Valium for while the attacks are happening & taking Endep (25) seemed to have stopped the neck spams in the night/early morning and now I sleep a lot better!

This was the main symptom that lead to my diagnosis

I hope you can find something that helps alleviate the pain

I have had such bad muscle spasms I thought it was a kidney stone before. Ended up in the er in severe pain. I am so sorry you have to deal with this pain.

First, a comment on your username: I KNEW instantly that you had rat terriers when I saw that name! I have one myself, and she is a godsend. Truly. My husband says she is the best medicine I have taken so far for this dreadfully awful disease! I got her when she was 11 weeks old, and now she is 9 months old. She loves my electric heated throw blanket almost as much as I do!

I can't say that I suffer from muscle spasms. Twitching and shooting pain is another story.

Stick with the Savella for a bit. Nausea is to be expected with so many of these drugs when you first get started. From what I've read on other forums, it should get better for you. I hope it's helping your symptoms...?

I take Neurontin, Tramadol, Vitamin D, Vicodin (as needed).
