Yes I love getting my massage, and yes it hurts but I feel so much better after ward, ok maybe not right after ward, but by the next day I do feel much better then I did before the massage. I get one ever month, wish I could afford to go more often, but that is life.
I am sorry to say, I live in Toronto, Canada, so we definitely don't live close enough. Wishing you best of luck.
Nice that some one would like to help us feel better. Good for you.
Sherrall
wow ,what a sweetheart..just wish i lived the other side of the pond now:)LOL
My fibro is flaring badly at the moment ,and done gently ,massage can bring some great relief ,from the nasty ,seized up ,sore and tender muscles...particularly when they go into spasm..
Good luck with your new practise....you definately have the right empathy ,that us "fibromites" need ,when we`re in alot of pain..I`m sure once people know you`re there ,you`ll do well..just wish we had somebody like you in the uk!
You might look into grants that are offered to set up programs like this.
Hugs
There are many here on this site that don't like that kind of pressure applied to their most painful areas, so you may want to keep that in mind as you experiment with us fibro people.
Good luck!
I have tried it in the past and also tried acupressure done by a acupuncturist, but that left me crippled for days.
No offense to you as I think you are trying to help but since my new neighbor just told me he gives massages if I ever want one, I'm a little creeped out at the moment.
Good Luck,
I'm amazed to see how many enjoy the massage. Sent me into pain big time. Both my daughter (a therapist) and her teacher worked on me at different times. Both left me in pain for days.
Was reading your profile that says you live somewhere in fl. ? In your post I assume you live in or near the tampa bay area. Can I ask why you have a particular interest in people who have fibro ? I did not see in your profile that you personally suffer from it or close to anyone who has it. So was just wondering ?
Again sorry for feeling skeptical about this..
Sherrall, I am sure I am the gentlest person you would ever meet either for a massage or for anything else. During the high point of the winter here about half the people are from Ontario. 10% of the population of Canada visits Florida every year. It's been called the greatest annual mass migration in the history of mankind. If you're ever here look me up.
crigi - sorry, Alberta is out for me.
Rocky - same thing for GBR.
Maryca - thank you for the advice.
theShari - as I said, I am the most gentle person you will ever meet. Too bad we're not closer.
youdontlooksick - please tell me why your neighbor creeps you out. As a man in this profession I have to deal with women's reluctance to trust men every day. If you really were considering a session with me I would give you references you can check.
Polybizz - I've already stressed how gentle I am.
I've only lived here 3 wks and now already have something to worry about. Since I shooed him out the gate he has walked to his car which is parked in front of my condo at least 20 times that I've seen in the last 2 hrs, and each time he stops and looks in. I can see out the blinds but he can't see in.
Someone please tell me how to put a stop to this! I don't want to be rude, but my condition has made me antisocial and I don't want unexpected people dropping by.
Sorry Dan. I hijacked your post.
