I make sure to schedule only one "tiring" activity per day, such as laundry OR going for a walk OR going to a doctors appointment.
I can't even do grocery shopping anymore. If I can afford it, I order online and have delivered. I took a scooter last time and that seemed to be much easier, but I agree, just fighting the people in the grocery store, thinking of should I get this or that....blah blah blah, omg, major task. I am lucky I have multiple delivery places now that I can just click on reorder past items when I can't think, or when I had someone to shop for me, I would just reprint my old lists and give them to them. Anything to make it easier. I find it best to go midweek and early or midday when quieter and I don't have to fight all the people.
Feel your pain,
JP
I have to shop for four adults.....hubby, my parents, and myself....I go at least once a week, and always fill one cart, if not two. It is totally exhausting.
I've started ordering some things online from Amazon....you can do a box deal and have it delivered for about $6....at least saves me some work.
HUGS from down south :)
If I have a major shopping job to do I usually sit in the the scooter. Noway I could make it without.
And like some folks here, we order a few things on line. Good luck next time and hope it's not as bad.
Right now with my chronic stomach illness acting up my son is doing all the shopping.
At the moment, I am eating out of my cupboard. I am dying for something fresh.
My EX would shop for me, but he gets the wrong things. I still haven't used the motorized cart, but I guess it's time to do that, if I want to continuing to eat normal food, not pizza.
I am really scared of the future and my doctor doesn't get it. I don't even wake up until about 3PM most days, staying awake well into the early morning hours.
I have considered having groceries delivered, but it's costly to do so. I don't use enough to warrant the cost. Maybe after I eat all the food in the cupboard.....
My plans for today were changing the bed linens (with the help of my daughter), getting groceries in the house (which my hysband is doing), clean/organize our bedroom dresser drawers (with the help of my daughter), Swiffering the floors and vacuuming the rugs and dusting (help of husband and daughter). So far, the sheets are off the bed, my husband is getting ready to go grocery shopping, and I'm sitting here resting with a moist heating pad after having put a load of laundry in, and putting cleaned linens away, with the help of my daughter.
Since the weather is humid, cold and rainy, body/nerves feel like they are on fire. So I'm not doing the drawers, and will be happy just to get the sheets and blankets on the bed. Daughter will Swiffer, dust and vacuum, and if it's not done today, no biggie.
I think as women, we feel unwarranted guilt about a lot of things over which we have no control. When I started letting that go, my stress levels went down.
Dinner today will consist of matzo ball soup with noodles and chicken cutlets, which I made on Thursday, and a spinach salad. Easy peasy. And the world will go on quite well without my killing myself.
I will get my ten to fifteen minutes walking on the treadmill in somehow today. I feel good after a little walk.
