just found out today that my position in the company along with several others is being eliminated, so we will lose our health insurance. Now that's exactly what I need is more stress.
Please try to take it one day at a time and keep reaching out. If you bring this to the main board, it will get more responses so that people can give you some ideas about where to go next. I am new here but they have helped me so much in the short time here. Big hugs, Kimmee

It keeps me wondering if there is somebody down the hall who is preparing that dreaded letter for ME and I just don't know it yet. The company is in enough trouble financially that I am pretty sure we're not going to make it but just don't know how far we can keep going. My hubby and I are emotionally and in practical ways making plans as if I'm going to lose my job at any moment.
If you have a firm end date for your job you should be able to go ahead and apply for unemployment - there is usually a waiting period (a week is typical) and by applying now you will be sure to get your benefits started at the earliest possible date, as they can start the process of verifying your job loss now rather than waiting until you've already lost your income.

I went out on disability just before our jobs were sent to India and Ireland.
It's really getting tough out there and if your sick without insurance life can be pretty awful. Maybe you can qualify for some county or state aid. I will keep you in my thoughts
So sorry to hear about your job. I had to quit my job at the bank due to my RA & Fibro. I just didn't have the strength to lift and handle those ginormous loan files.
We have been scraping by on my hubby's income for a year & a half. We are blessed to have health insurance, but the premiums along with all of our monthly meds is over $500.00 a month.
We moved from the country closer to his job to save on gas. We are in an apartment for the first time in 30 years but we just love it. No more acreage to mow & weed eat and we have a swimming pool which helps with the RA (that's when I have the energy to go LOL)

Sorry to hear about your job and health insurance. One thing you may want to look into is making a financial arrangement with your doctor to be a "cash patient". Since it does not require staff to do billing and waiting for payment from the insurance company, you may see a huge difference in what they charge vs. what your insurance has billed.
