I had it prescribed for anxiety a few years ago when I was under a lot of stress, and had no bad side effects. I only took it at night because it made me very sleepy, but when I took it I slept like a baby.

I wish I could get it again but I'd have to pretend to be anxious LOL

Why did they prescribe it for your b/f?

I have no ideas...I did look it up tho...sounds rather intense !!I Hope ur BF does a Full research on it before taking it !!

For me it's a thumbs down. I lost a huge chunk of time about a whole weeks worth of memories. It wasn't till I went to doctors office for a follow up that he noticed something was wrong and had me stop the med and had one of the nurses drive me home. I stopped taking it on a friday and it wasn't until monday that I noticed my car was missing. My brother filled me in on what happened. Just becareful some people are fine but some people are like me and have bad side effects.

yes please be careful, I mistakenly gave my husband a xanx last week as he was going out the door for work, (I was planing on giving an ultram, I am still not sure how I mixed them up like that) thank God he car pools, it knocked his socks off, he fell asleep on the way in they have a 60 mile drive to work. he did not start to feel better for hours. he didn't know what hit him. I have given ultram many times,if I run out my dr. will give another rx in bill's name. she's wonderful about us sharing medications. we are so lucky to have found her. she even takes phone calls after hours and will call in an rx if needed. my son's girlfriend is going to start seeing her now too.

It's real name is Ativan I believe. My doctor gave me the choice of that of Valium & I took the Valium. Ativan knocks me out!

I take this and have for years. Its to help me with insomnia and stress.

he just got out of the Marines a couple months ago after serving 2 combat tours. one in Afghan and one in Iraq. he also came up positive for TBI (traumatic brain injury) from all the explosions he was around while over there. don't worry the VA is taking care of him and they are working faster on his case than anyone's i've ever seen!! back when i got out of the Corps, we were on our own when we got out. had to figure out the VA stuff by our selves! but that was in 05.

Well, I've taken Ativan off and on for many years. It's a medication that you can become dependent on for anxiety/panic type attacks. For over a year now, I've taken the lowest dose at bedtime along with a Ambien and Flexeril to help with sleeping. Unfortunaltely I still sleep very litte.
I'm very sensitive to meds and Ativan was one that has never been hard on me. I think if you are really stressed or really anxious, it takes the edge off. If you are not stressed maybe it knocks you out. I'm just guessing due to my experience with it.

hi i have been taking lorazepam for about 20 years no side effects for me. I have a lot of allergies to meds but i do well with this one.

It is a benzo and its feel good but highly addictive..Gives you that nothing is wrong feeling..Like your walking on clouds..I personally loved it.But because its so addictive Drs stopped prescribing here in Portland..At least mine did.The withdrawl is also very hard core..Just be tell him to be careful..

Actually I tried it , it didnt help or hurt. Didnt see any sense in taking it...

I HAVE BEEN ON LORAZEPAM ON AND OFF FOR ANXIETY. I'VE HAD NO ILL EFFECTS AND WHEN I''M HAVING A BAD ATTACK, THEY REALLY DO WORK. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

I have taken it in combination with Ambien CR to help with sleep, but I haven't gotten an real positive results. I may get 4 solid hours of sleep (which is good sometimes), but that's about it.
