Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm not being paranoid...lol. This morning I thought I'd get out into the garden for a bit and do some more work in ripping out the overgrown weeds.
Living in a rural area, any cars that go past or that are parked, you notice.
So I'm standing there taking a breath when this car comes around the corner really slowly, almost stops out the front like it's looking for something. The windows are quite dark and all I could see was someone holding a pen.
Then it kinda took off a bit - like the driver saw me looking at him/her, then slowed down again up the road.
I just kept watching - it was weird - my radar was up...... but it drove off.
Well I went back to ripping out the weeds, when a couple of minutes later, the same car came down another street toward my house, once again, really slowly. Of course I did the dweller's stare....... next thing I see a massive camera lens pointed my way WTF?????
Then I twigged. I am taking my WorkCover insurers to conciliation because they want to stop paying for my medical treatments and medications, and so, they are trying to get evidence that I am not affected by my injury.
Boy was I steaming!!!! Just because I could spend an hour or so weeding (getting about a quarter of what an able bodied person would get done) does not mean I am okay!!! Do they get photos of me afterward, when I can hardly get out of my chair. NOOOOOOOO.
What do they want me to do - just sit inside and vegetate or get out there and try and od some stuff???!!!!
Can ya tell I'm pissed, lol.
It will be interesting to see if the photos surface at the hearing or not. It feels like such an invasion of privacy. I understand they need to catch rip offs, but this has been going on for just about 6 years.... believe me if I didn't need them to pay for these services and medications I had would have said goodbye to them a long long time ago.

I think the only people who worry about being watched are the innocent, the people who are ripping of insurers or benefits dont really care wether they get caught or not.

I just got a call from my doctor's office saying they just received forms again that need to be filled out saying I'm disabled. I have to run over there this afternoon and pay them or they won't fill them out.
Rap I was very tempted to have the big finger ready, but probably wouldn't go down too well at conciliation, lol.
I agree Lisa - I am not doing anything at all for a while, not cos I'm worried, but cos I CAN'T - I too am collapsed on the couch.
Hurting I sure hope this doesn't happen - but if it does I'll appeal.
Sorry you had to go through so many surgeries Lynn. I know the feeling of just wanting them out of your hair - I would if I could afford it - believe me, I've had a gutful of it all.
Jellybean, I'm pretty sure they're not casing hte place - there are a lot more that would be worth knocking off than my tiny place, but thanks for the warning.
Kimmy - I'm laying low, no choice there I'm too stiff to move, and knew I would before I started, lol. Funnily enough the guy that the insurers pay to mow my lawns was very happy to tell me how he ripped the system off and how he conned his neuro by sitting on his hands while waiting for his appt etc, and he got a massive payout. If I had a choice about who I could use, I wouldn't have been using this scumbag.

Exactly klik - I spend enough time on my backside - I am just amazed that the timing coincided.

I was shocked to see a file an inch thick from my LTD carrier, including a CD with videos of me.
He said they aren't just trying to deny my claim, they are trying to prove fraud and throw me in jail.
He gave me the CD and I just watched the video.
They have me going to the store on one day, going to the bank on another, and going to my doc's office. This particular video was taken during the summer before they came out and interviewed me for 4 hrs. I told them during the interview that I was unable to go shopping. And even though it shows someone from the store loading the groceries, and it shows me bringing the groceries in my house with the use of the scooter - I was still doing something that I said I couldn't.
Don't be tempted to give them the finger or a little wave. This is serious business.
Please don't let it stress you out. It's their job to be pigs. They'll do anything to justify their salary.
I wonder how much money is spent trying to prove people aren't needy as opposed to how much is spent on needy people getting the help they need.
