Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Everybody is different. We each may have our "worse" areas but we do tend to have all over pain. It also can fluctuate dramatically depending on whether or not you're in a flare. I see that you are already a member of the chronic pain group due to your neck injury. People with chronic pain are definitely more susceptible to fibro due to sleep disturbances.
Your best bet is to see a rheumy to try and get a proper diagnosis. It's always easier to manage anything once we know what it is.
Good luck.

I am only 21 and was just dxd with FM. I have all the symptoms you metioned. My elbows and knees hurt more than anything and my lower back feels like someone is standing on me. But everyone is different. I would talk to your dr about the possibility of you haveing FM. It never hurts to ask
Sad to say, but your symptoms do sound like fibromyalgia ones. It is different in everyone although a lot of us have the same symptoms. There are good treatments though. I suggest a good Rheumatologist who actually understands and treats fibromyalgia. Beware of the doctors that just treat you indifferently. Good doctors are the key to successful treatments. Hope you feel better.

For me too the WORST pain is my neck and upper back. I am CONSTANTLY rubbing it , applying creams and capsaicin patches, self massage, etc. It is RELENTLESS! But, I also have full body pain but I would give anything to get rid of this neck pain. I just recently found out through more thorough Xrays that my neck is completely straight. No curvature in it whatsoever. It is pressing on nerves. But I also have the fatigue and stuff. I don't know anymore which causes which. EIther way, FIBRO is probably more prevalent in women because mostly women come forward with it. Its a stigma still for men to admit pain in this society. Sad but true.

Yes I have pain in those areas too after I was rear ended in 2000. I have neck spurs. I have horrible headaches, pain in my neck, shoulders & arms.
Fibro is more common in women, but men get it too. Hubby & I both have fibro!
