Cleaning my house is easy and does not take forever like it use to. I'm much happier with less clutter. I don't get frustrated trying to find things anymore. Much simpler.
Now, I can take my time, do one small chore at a time. Basically the house looks nice all the time, even when something is messed up....with less clutter, it doesn't look like as much of a disaster.
This also gives me more time to do the detail cleaning, blinds, above fridge ect.
Hope you can find something that works for you.
Our house is very small so if you buy something, you give away an item. Really stops a person from impulse buying, keeps the house neater too.
I also always have paper plates on hand for days when I don't want to wash a ton of dishes and when I cook, always make double and freeze it.
Most of it got given away. I just don't need that much "stuff" in my life. "Stuff" isn't what's important. It's SO much easier to clean without all the knick knacks!
For the actual work, I subscribe to the "you can eat an elephant in small bites" theory. You'd be amazed what you can get done in 15 minutes. Last weekend my total goal was to clean my master bath (it's kinda big) and it got done - in 15 minute increments - but it got done.
I've found that keeping up with some things - like loading the dishwasher after every meal and running it whether it's full or not - makes things much easier. It's kind of like pain - if you let it get ahead of you it's so much harder to get it under control!
It's tough and everybody works out their own way to get it done - hope some of the suggestions are helpful!
