So the oil is fine to consume or use on skin.
Hemp oil is valued because it is a great source of EFA essential fatty acid content which is very important for our health.
Flax seed also has good EFA too.
I use flax oil on my salads.
I think I will check out more on hemp oil and compare the two.
Getting adequate amounts of EFA in our diet is important. It can help reduce inflammation, pain, it's good for our skin, heart, joints. All kinds of things.
I think your question is a really good one. Maybe try the oil out and see if it helps you.
Hemp has a better balance of the omega 6 and omega 3 essential fatty acids though flax has a higher omega 3 EFA content.
Hemp is less calories than flax. which is a plus
Hemp also has trace minerals which flax does not so that's a plus.
both oils need to be refrigerated but it says that flax degrades much quicker than hemp. so that's another plus.
both flax and hemp are not to be used for cooking.
I just ordered some hemp oil as I really want to try it. I read some reviews and it seems that it has a pleasant flavor too. nicer than flax.
I may use both in my life. It doesn't have to be an either or. It seems they both have good things to offer but If I had to choose it looks like hemp maybe a good way to go because of its fatty acid balance.
Anyway here is a link that explains the difference between the two oils way better than I can explain.
