When someone's FM is controlled or better-than-horrible? It's worth noting. I can't do cymbalta or LDN, but that doesnt' mean other things haven't come in handy, or prompted thought. I've been here since 2010 I think, and I'm pretty sure I don't contribute much but hugs, but hey, it is what it is....
Hugs,
Leo
See? Hugs. Sheesh.
Leo, I hang around for the opportunity to smother you with a Bag of Doritos! That is really funny! I see you understand what I mean.
Yes, it's the food, and I also think that I keep saying over and over, don't increase the meds dosage too soon because you are going to get side effects before you get benefits. Then, if you do get side effects, try cutting down instead of discontinuing. For us fibromites, a little seems to be better than a lot. Two physicians (specialists) have told me this plus my own personal experience when my primary increased my Cymbalta dosage before 3 months.
Learned something new listening to psychiatry grand rounds, if the initial dosage of an antidepressant does not procure ANY. effect, even slight, do not increase the dosage. The person does not respond to that antidepressant. If there is a slight benefit, you are on to a good thing.
I control my fibro through diet, acupuncture, pacing......no meds other than pain killers for those nights that the pain is really bad. It works for me. Doesn't mean I do not think about others' suggestions or research them...just to know more and keep an open mind.
Keep posting!!
I take one pain pill a day---and it's the smallest vicodin they make---and I am on minimal dosages of my PTSD meds.... they don't even want to take me t the standard Prozac dose since I'm "okay" at a lower dose...
The smallest changes can be huge results....
Keep posting. Ihvaen't given up yet.... You nver know what small words can be big influences in a life.
If you have "so much to do" then your life is important and comes first.
You post when you can and when you have energy to.
You don't have to carry any kind of burden or wear yourself out.
People can google. :)
And yes there are many topics that are repeated. I've repeated myself too and I've promoted anti flam more than once on DS. And many other helpful things. Well, I consider them to be. :)
Whether anyone reads them or not I don't know
Sometimes I feel I get totally ignored. Lol
I still post though.
They may not let you know, but believe me they are there, and they are reading.
When we find something that helps us to feel better it's only natural to want to try and help others. Don't ever feel that your efforts are in vain because they are not! You have shared your regimen as well as many beneficial articles and I appreciate it.
As you know, I have found improvement through dietary changes, (gluten, dairy, sugar, and yeast free), following an anti-candida program, aqua therapy, massages and supplements. Even though I sometimes feel like a broken record I continue to share it because it is what has helped me and I never know whose life I can improve by sharing.
By the way I am considering LDN because of you sharing how much you have benefitted from it. I am still taking anti-fungals and am thinking about taking it to regulate my immune system after I'm done with the candida program. If it weren't for your sharing I might not have researched it.
Interestingly a friend of mine with prostate cancer has also been placed on the antiinflammatory diet. At this point, you stub your toe and they put you on the antiinflammatory diet, but I guess if it is a healthy diet, then it makes sense that anyone could benefit.
Be sure to post your experience if you try LDN . You know, there is a chronic fatigue forum here also. I wonder if there are more LDN users there. One thing that is pretty amazing is that I have not caught the cold that everyone around me seems to have. Maybe coincidence, but LDN is supposed to boost the immune system.
