I have always thought my vertigo had to do with the neck pain and the constant headaches and migraines. I was getting neck injections every 3 months and it was working so well for me. My insurance last summer decided they were not going to pay for them anymore. My doctor fought for me to get them and they finally gave in and said I could have two a year. That is not working for me.

I had an injection in September, I did good until December. I have been bedridden with horbble migranes and vertigo since January. I finally got to have my other injections yesterday and I feel so much better. No headache or migraine and vertigo is gone. My doctor is going to again try and fight for the injections more often but he doesn't think they will go for it. I just don't understand why my insurance won't pay for 2 more a year when they help so much. The reason I was able to get SSI was because of the migraines and vertigo.

I saw my therapist today and she even said I looked good and was glad to see me smiling for the first time in months. I'm just frustrated and needed to vent. I'm glad to be feeling so good today though.

Hi there, I am so sorry you are going through all that trouble with your medical insurance, dealing with pain and migraines is hard enough without having to deal with all that. It sounds like you have a very good doctor and he is fighting for you so I hope he is able to get through to them for you. I have been suffering from migraines too for 18 months and the trigger point injections have helped me too so I totally understand how upsetting this must be for you.

Are you getting trigger point injections? If so, have you ever considered spinal column injections? It is a short series w/ often permanent results.

5 years ago I got 2 spinal injections a month a part at C 6, C7 and after about 10 days I was greatly, and so far permanently, improved. I don't know if this is appropriate for your condition, just wanted to share my experience.

At present I also take an anti-spasmodic med. for other muscle tightness.

Am sorry you are struggling with treatment about this and hope you are able to work out a longer term strategy soon.

I'm actually getting a medial branch block done in my neck and then I get trigger point injections at the same time. It has helped so much as long as it's done every 3 months.

I go to a doctor at a pain clinic and he does this for me. I go see him next month so will talk to him about other options that my insurance might cover. He has been so great and trying really hard to get my insurance to cover this.
