hey, i am no expert on lyrica, but i was on it for 6 weeks i think. it put me in a very dark place in my brain and just all around screwed up. but you have tolerated it well up to this point i take it. maybe you just need to sit down with your doctor and really list off your symptoms and concerns. it sounds like he has concerns too. so the best approach is for u two to be on the same page as you address these issues.

i DO know that taking any more than the recommended dosage of tylenol is dangerous. believe it or not, the most frequently observed overdose that emergency room workers see is from tylenol. it is extremely hard on the liver. that is one med that i never take too much of. now i tend to push it with ibuprofen but not tylenol. :)

wow. i dont know. i went down sllooowwly like you and had no prob. you're
supposed 2 go off sslloowwly, and keep in touch w/dr. see if you can do it by phone, instead of another dr. visit bill$$$$. the good news is if you drop lyrica, you'll save alot of $$$$$$.

Yes, I have had serious reactions to Lyrica. At first it seemed to be the miracle drug, then slowly my blood pressure started dropping. Over a few months, I no longer needed my blood pressure meds, as it was getting too low. The doctor lowered the lyrica dosage to (2) 75mg/day, and things seemed ok ( except I was gaining weight). One weekend recently, I felt like I was gaining ALOT of weight, I mean 15 lbs, over a weekend!! i couldn't bend over to shave my legs in the bath [uhoh!!]. So, I called the doc, he said to come in monday. That night, I started having real bad chest pains/anxiety attacks. I went to the ER, and after hours and hours of bloodwork, and being 'taken down a notch' with xanax, I was able to understand the doctor when he told me I have to stop taking Lyrica immediately, no time to taper... I was allergic to it. So...the withdrawl was pure hell.... 2 weeks of panic attacks and severe pain, no meds to help...i was so scared that anything i took woulkd make me die. Then, I had to return to work on medications for anxiety...(or lose my FT job) So, yes, I have had very very bad problems...I surely hope you don't. ~*hugssss*~

Mine was sever anger issues and not remembering them. Thank goodness my husband didn't leave me. By the end I slit my wrists twice and was rushed to the county hospital. When I spoke to my usual PCP he informedme that Lyricas biggest down is if you have any anger issues or suicide issues then they become stronger and it could drive you over the edge. Just something they neglect to tell you when they place you on this drug

I had a bad reaction but I felt it coming on so after only one week I stopped taking it. It was taking me into the pits of hell really fast.

I pray that you can find your way past this and WATCH your BP. When you go through withdrawl your BP can go out of wack fast so keep your eye on it...V

"LYRICA is not for everyone. LYRICA may cause serious allergic reactions. Tell your doctor right away about any serious allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, mouth, lips, gums, tongue or neck or if you have any trouble breathing. Other allergic reactions may include rash, hives and blisters. Tell your doctor about any changes in your eyesight, including blurry vision, muscle pain along with a fever or tired feeling. If you have diabetes tell your doctor about any skin sores.

Some of the most common side effects of LYRICA are dizziness, sleepiness, weight gain, blurred vision, dry mouth, feeling "high", swelling of hands and feet, and trouble concentrating. You may have a higher chance for swelling and hives if you are also taking angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors so you should let your doctor know if you are taking these medications. You may have a higher chance of swelling or gaining weight if you are also taking certain diabetes medicines.

In mice, an increase in a specific type of blood vessel tumor was observed but no evidence of the same effect was seen in studies with rats. The clinical significance of this finding is unknown. During clinical studies in humans, none of the same tumor types were observed, although some new or worsening-preexisting tumors were reported (57 patients out of 6396 patient-years). It is not possible to know whether this is or is not related to LYRICA treatment..."

I was on Lyrica for about 8 months and had all the swelling and headaches and i GAINED 100LBS!! My old pain doc was basically running and assembley line office!! He would run in and see 1 or 2 patients the go and do 1 or 2 procedures then repeat. He also double booked almost all the patient appts. But not the procedures. He also really didn't realize that i gained all that weight. So first i changed pain docs, then my new doc took me off the Lyrica and put me on Zonisamide 100mg 1xday, then I was taking about 8 to 10 Norco(10mg/325mg) a day. The new guy put me on Opana ER 60mg 2xday and weened me down to 5 Norco a day if need. I also take Fioricet for my migraines. Since i switched from Lycria to Zonisamide i have lost the 100lbs that i gained in about 5 or 6 months time.

Thanks to everyone for your input.Lyrica really affected my blood pressure by going up. Now I am going to not take anymore and I only took one this morning. I am still 1/2 bedridden from 3 weeks with migraines,
Like many disabled I have been waiting for SSDI to kick in. So I couldn't afford my migraine meds.
I just want to try to get through this.I think I am not done with the migraines but am not entirely sure so I am waiting as calmly as possible as I can't afford to go get a prescription or purchase it for high blood pressure as I have not had problems since 2004.I have started a health regimen that I was on that brought my blood sugars and blood pressure down in the past.
I am seeing signs of feeling better but I really appreciate everyone helping me not feel alone.

I survived one pill!

The doctor called it Destonya. I couldn't move. I could hardly talk, yet, I was aware of everything going on around me. No matter how hard I tried to move.....even my lips, I couldn't. It was HORRIBLE!

And that was after 1 pill!!!!!

I starterd with the dizzyness and swelling of hands and feet after the first dose.
One by one, I was suffering with more du=ymptoms, but the swelling was the worst for me. I couldn't wear my rings at firstm=, and then I couldn't wear any of my shoes, And it wasn't just selling...it was painful swelling. Doctor removed me from Lyrica after one week.

Please excuse typos...nigjhtly blurriness and fibro fog is setting in.

CoEnzymeQ10 (or CoQ10) is supposed to get rid of migraines, great for the heart and lowers blood pressure. This may help?

my sis(of my heart!) said it was wonderful for taking down the pain.Then she startedf swelling....she had good old fashioned dropsy and her face had big red blotches....her tongue got heavy...and her mind wouldn't work well enough to tell her she was in trouble.....

I had serious side effects to lyrica- my eyes went behind my head and I couldn't talk so I went off. good luck with everything

I have only hd the swelling slightly in hands and feet. God bless
