I told my hubby HE is doing everything next year...I'm going on strike! He replied "will that be the year we go away on vacation?" I replied "well, if that's what you plan!" :)

How does the ratio of "you doing everything else" to our spouses saying "I cleaned up" equal the same! LOL

You are not a 3 yr old, you are sick, I am going to paddle his behind! He needs someone to tell him whats what! You also probably did not even know an hour before that your body was going to get so tired. Remember, do not let words hurt you. My family did not call me on Christmas, and this year, is the worst of my life and I will not complain again to you, but I could not get down and visit, but again, why should the sick person visit, and none of the healthy ones ever travel? But I cant believe they did not call or even email! I have to remind myself not to be in toxic stressful situations, and when you hon, think of the words your husband said, replace it immediately in your brain with a positive thought for yourself. So sorry to hear that he didn't help. I know exactly what you are talking about! I did Thanksgiving this year for 18 relatives. When I was growing everybody helped even if it was not your house. I think they all should have helped they must have realized you are ill, but even if you weren't they should help. Just my point of view. PS my relatives don't help either

Aw sweetie, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. The holidays probably force many of us to do more than we should. It must be just terrible for your family not to understand and support you. I'm pretty sure you are down for the count today I sure am and I didn't do much at all. I don't know if it helps but since it is hard for us to understand this disease and don't get me started on D.rs that still don't get it. Sometimes I expect a little more understand than people can give because they have no Idea what it means to be in so much pain you want to scream and pound your head against the wall. ( oops maybe that is just me. :o) What I am trying to say is that I recently read the letter to us about our spouse/partner's struggle with how it changes their world too. It humbled me and gave me a new perspective on those who love and try to understand something they can't see. I hope you can rest today. Im sorry you had to hear those words from your hubby. It sounds like he is having moe deep seeded issues though then just yesturday. Chances are he is feeling frustrated in general about your fibro and maybe when things die down a bit you can both sit down and talk a bit. If you do just try to stay very open and a good listner. we have a hard time sometimes remembering that our fibro affects our whole family as we are the ones that deal with it every moment of every day. I would find a way to make a big to do about your hubby hlping and make him feel appriciated. We shouldnt have to do such things but we often do.... just to keep peace in the house

i think you try too hard. at l0am you should have gone to bed. when it hurts, it hurts. the relatives can think whatever they want to. my friends, the few i still have, know that if i'm in bed it's because i have to be. we had thanksgiving at a local resturant and the four of us were thrilled not to have to do any work on this holiday. for G-d's sake, i've been doing thanksgiving for more than 50 years! be on your own side! refuse to argue about it with husband or family. go to bed when it hurts!

I'm really sorry you had this experience freelee know how comments like this can hurt the feelings. Is like they have thought of everyones feelings except for yours.

if you push too hard you will end up in bed for weeks.. maybe you ought to just go to bed and stay there for a while, and then tell him I am so exhausted from all the christmas cheer I have fallen in bed and I can't get up !!!
