We've all had it that bad at some point, It hink. Just cry, drin a lot of water to stay hydrated, and rest as much as you can till you can get a doc to take notice of your problem. Good luck and gentlest hugs,

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I would be cautious with combining valerian root with a med like lyrica. That could possibly be causing some of your problems.

I'd be in touch with the doctor to tell him what's going on. I don't know how long I'd be able to put up with those side effects of lyrica. But that's just me.

It takes awhile for lyrica to help and if its flaring you may need your dosage increased. I have found that the higher dosage decreases the lala land effect in addition to helping with the pain, Call your dr asap and hopefully you will get some help!

Lyrica comes with many side effects, which can actually worsen the Fibro in some patients rather than help them. I'd call the Dr and tell him what you are experiencing to see what he can do for you. I'd also ask him if it is safe to take the Valarian Root along with it.

Also, did a General dr give it to you or a pain dr. I'd actually consult with a pain management dr as sometimes the GP prescribe the medicine, but don't know much about treating Fibro. A pain dr. knows Fibro and may be able to help you figure out what dose is best for you, what Fibro meds are best, etc. Just a suggestion. Unfortunately, there isn't that "magical medicine" out there, and it becomes a trial and error for finding the right combo of meds that will work best for your body.

I would also encourage you to call your prescribing doc and let him know what's going on a dosage change could be in order.

kitkennedy, I was on Neurontin, which I think is a generic form of Lyrica or pretty similar. After a week on it, I was literally climbing the walls. It was the worst feeling along with agitation. I called the on call doc because it was Memorial weekend, and she said to stop it immediately. I am not sure if that is what you are feeling, but I would contact your doc and tell them about it.

My pain doc is the one whom prescribes all meds for me and I am not able to see him till next week, does not do anything to call them they don't call back! Not very happy with overall service with them at this point! I was in a car accident 5 months after my surgery (posterier C567 t1) for the second time and I was totally ignored! I was passed around to phys assistants! I feel alone fighting this. I care for my elderly mother and my son somewhat understands but, not completely yet! He has been researching for me. It is so hard to believe I was so vibrant just a year ago and now hmmm it is a sad dark place that I am at! I felt relief a couple of days after taking lyrica but, I am only on a small dose three times a day. The zaflex helps spasms in my neck slow down and Norco helps with the pain and makes me able to work for the most part. But, it is a hard road to travel! I thank all of you to know it is no longer a road alone I must face daily! Hugs to all of you and that is gentle hugs! One giant downer is I used to love to hug people and now I cringe!

Neurontin is not the generic of Lyrica. It is actually the brand name for Gabapentin. I use it and it works well for me but like any med what works well for one may not work well for another. Just wanted to clear that up. Hope you're feeling better!
