What do you mean they refuse you ? If you mean they refuse to help you with your disability claim, that is not unusual. A drs job is to diagnoise you and treat you not help you get disability. But, a good dr who keeps good detailed medical records will help your case. If you're telling them you want them to help you get disability, that may be your mistake.

At my doctor's office they have a policy that they can't be involved in any type of case, disability or otherwise because they may be called to testify. That really sucks for patients. Regardless of that my Rhuemy still filled out a functional capacity evaluation geared toward FM. She filled it out the Friday before my hearing and that counted a lot.

I had to find a doctor in the hispanic community, het was a fine doctor, although saw about 90 patients a day, he was very caring and went out of his way to help me. That and a pain specialist that charged a bundle.

Have to agree with ItsJustMe. You are probably going about it the wrong way. There needs to be a lot of workup, record keeping, observation, etc. Otherwise, it sounds like you ask for a conclusion prior to a diagnosis or treatment. There are many people that work with fibromyalgia even though some can not. There needs to be an evaluation and this may take time. If you see another doctor, give them opportunity to get to know you and create a record of all treatments that were tried and failed. It's a long road but it has to be taken in steps. Just think for a second, pretend you are a doctor. A patient shows up with the conclusion they cannot work--how do you even know if they are being truthful? Now, as a doctor, your credibility is on the line. If you have a thick file, you may in time feel disability may be a reasonable option.

When I realized I could not work much longer I took the advice of a friend who had been through it. I just went to the Dr. for help, tried everything they offered and continued to work. This actually went on for five years as I was stubborn.

At age 56 could not do it any longer, but by then I had all the records I needed. My Podiatrist was livid that I was approved and it was one of chart notes that did it. He would not stick up for me, but had to send in notes. I was a school bus driver/trainer. They knew I could not drive anymore but wanted me to still train which required a lot of standing during class time. He went red in the face when it was his notes that said standing for 2 hours was out of the question.

I had my family dr. and two therapists who supported me because they saw everything I did to keep working.

It is called a paper trail and is very important.

You need to be seeing a dr for a while for their notes in your medical records to carry much weight. As others here have said, it takes time to get the documentation you need. For fibro, the dr must do diagnostic tests to rule out other possiibilities. They also need to make notes of your symptoms as well as their response to treatments and this takes time.
