I've also started following Dr. Teitlebaum's natropathic program. With regard to Vitamin B, one of my chronically tired friends, started receiving Vitamin B injections last year, and swears it has given her life back!
Like you I'm also taking D-Ribose, and magnesium. Additionally, I'm taking the super-vitamins ("Daily Energy Infusion" powder), alpha-lipoic acid, phosphatidylserine complex, acetyl L-carnitine HCI, CoQ10, and an adrenal cortex extract. I get my products online at www.vitacost.com because the site offers good prices, and cheap flat rate shipping.
I putting my trust in this approach because Dr. T and others have healed their bodies naturally be following this program--and the best thing is it won't cause side effects. I am so chemically sensitive I cannot take most meds. The brain/memory support supplements above I know are already helping my ability to concentrate. I feel like I'm getting my "old" brain back. I think the secret is that such a natural approach can take a few months to kick in to the point where you can really feel the difference. If you're adrenals have been burned out by stress, they will require time to heal. This is the step I blew before. I wanted instant results. I bailed on the natural approach because I didn't understand that I needed to give it time. I lost a few years to trying various rounds of medications that made me worse and by trying to force my body to have more energy by drinking coffee and eating more sugary foods--definite no-nos in our situation!
In addition to the book. "From Fatigued to Fantastic," you might also look at a book called "Adrenal Fatigue" and "The Brain Trust." I hope you will keep me posted on your progress with your natural approach. You may consider adding some of the other things I'm using if you suffer from brain fog and weakness. In all honesty, so far nothing has helped reduce my pain levels, but having my brain sharp again is such a gift! Good luck.
What grams are you taking for the D-Ribose? Are you taking a powder? in the morning? I take the powder and just take 5 grams a day in the morning. I take a liquid magnesium, vitamin D and calcium. Liquid absorbs better into your system. I try and take 100 mgs of 5-HTP, twice a day but usually forget.
What other things are you doing to have a working solution? Are you trying the other things suggested in the book? Have you eliminated MSG, white sugar and flours etc. from your diet? Do you do do daily exercise such as swimming, walking etc.? What about alternative solutions like Reflexology, massage therapy, aqua therapy etc.
It's not about just taking a handful of supplements. It's more a whole life change. I hope that it starts to help you and provide some relief.
