I have the same pain same ankle the only thing I did to was run over it standing on the back of my tricycle running and pushing (it funny how you will remember the strangest things) when I was 3 or 4 I no this becasue I got a big girls two wheeler bike on my 5th birthday in March.
Ever since that day ever so often my ankle will give out, it does it more often the last couple of years, so when I do my long walks I wear a foot brace.
And I don't want to scrae you but those sharp knife like electric -shock like pain can happen just about anywhere now on my body just part of the Fibro monster.

Thanks so much for bringing this up. I have similair pains, but just ignored them as 'one more pain' to add to the list. They are sharp and nasty, but do seem to flare up only occasionally.
Anyone else with this problem?

Before I left my job in July, 2010, it was a physical job and I got what I would call "knife stabs" and it was so strong it would cause me to drop things, and cry out. It was short lasting, but very intense pain.

I have not worked since then, just house work type stuff, and it has gone away, so I was over doing it on a daily basis and ignoring it, and plowing through.

Electric shock type pain seems to me to be pinched nerves? I did have that in my shoulder down arm to hand when a disc in my back was causing problems 20 some years ago, and pt helped me get over that. That was not fibro related but I am no expert for your situation.

Read up on Morton's neuroma. It's a nodule on the nerve between two bones that run the length of the foot and the pain is like an electric shock - location will depend somewhat on where the nodule is.

It's easily treated with a shot of cortisone but I also had to give up my cute shoes - the ones with high heels :) I had to have two cortisone shots but once I accepted the shoe thing (which was HARD - I LOVED my SHOES!) I haven't had any more issues.

Mine turn angry red dunno why it's not neruopathy they ruled that out. But mine itch and burn they hurt. I take ellivl and neruotion for it.

I've been having foot pain also, in my heal and the arch of my foot. I think mine is mostly from the bitter cold weather. I have been wrapping a heating pad around it, which helps a little, but not too much. Good luck at the DR's, lets us know what they say!

Had this for several months...just recently...& i hadn't injured it either! I could hardly walk at times...& it would often go numb on me. It finally went away...just as suddenly as it began. Patience...is a virtue! {{hugs}}
