I am looking forward to getting to know you better, so post away...and again ...welcome to the group
This is Not who I am today...why ?
because I am now the one sick...I have the allergies my Poor baby daughter suffered...I suffer the depression of my father...I cannot always be more then 15 feet away from a bathroom...
This DIS-EASE has taken so much from me, but has given me something as well...A Clear Understanding...empathy and sympathy...I have slowed way down and while doing that I have seen alot of things I had missed along the way...and I laugh now, at myself, at others...I rarely laughed before...was to busy, to focused...and I also am Now 50 pounds overweight...so I suffer the fate of my sister who has always had weight issues....god gave me the sufferings of my family...who I thought could cure themselves...I thought they could just get over it...I cannot help but believe that...my body Pain is from my heart being to small to withstand all the pain and it has just all spilled over...
so Now I am fighting back to be healthier again...BUT with a new Understanding and respect for what others go thru everydamnday.
starting January 1rst Keep a Journal...make it fun...set it up so you can write how you feel when you first wake up....everytime you attempt something New give it at least 6 weeks...write in there everything you feel...what you have eaten...set your goal for that day...Just everything...
come to understand that people who are NOT sick are NOT gonna Understand your daily pain...come here and talk to us cause we get it...leave it all here and give your family and friends close to you all your good stuff...this has helped me a great deal...finding this place....
I to have started an exercise regimine...yesterday they booted me up to 2 hours...I thought I was gonna die...ManOMan !!today, I am stiff...but it is the real stiffness from DOING...not just the sore achey muscles...and it feels AWSOME in some sick demented way !!
DO NOT be discouraged if after a few weeks you step on the scale and found that you have actually put on weight...or that your weight has not changed...Muscle weighs more then fat...just keep on going...this week I put on 2 pounds...but my jeans are ever looser...my husband grabed a handful of me last night and said WOW...this response after 5 full weeks of PT gives me the encouragement to keep going...and I FEEL so very much better...I am 44...a month and a half ago I felt so completely worthless, useless, sick...I just no longer gave a shit...EVERYTHING I attempted landed me squarley on my ass...I have a great PT who understands about FM...I have an awsome massage therapist who understands about FM...I have an awsome chiro that understand about FM...took my quite awhile to find these people...made lotsa phone calls and walked out of many offices even more determined each time...all these people that I see WORK with muscles and tendons and Joints everyday all day long...they Know something is not right here...Get your Vitamin D levels checked as well....I was shocked mine were SO LOW...cause I am in the sun all the time...I kept hearing about Vit D on another site and so Finally asked to check mine...if you Are low then go to your local healthfood store...NOT GNC...but a regular one and Talk to them about increasing your levels...these are the people Trained to know about Vitamins and supplements...
I have Not yet made the desicion to quit smokeing...I hope that comes soon...but not right now for me...thought about getting hypnotized to do it...ya hafta go back like once a month for awhile til the urge is REALLY gone from what others have told me...but they only had to pay the intitial 110 bucks....well hell that is a month worth of smokeing !! they get the rest of the hypnotherapy free as long as they are not smokeing...I want to quit...but my brain is not with me on that one yet....sigh...and as you start keep everyone here posted on how it is going for you...when I started I was 171...I am now at 156...I was 154 last week ...but my exercise has increased dramatically...yesterday my PT says ta me, I wish all our FM patients were as eager as you, i said I am beyond eager, I am desperate and you are my last hope...and as long as you don't let me down i will try real hard not to let me down as well...lotsa times I thought about quitting...hurt alot...fatigue set in bad...but I think I am thru the worst of it now...I was up to a size 12 jeans...I squeezed my butt into my 9's yesterday...still a tad tight...but i know i can get there...
I wish for you all the luck in the world...i do believe you will need assistance with this tho...if you have insurance then ask your Dr. to refer you to physical therapy...and make sure that therapist has knowledge of FM...oh, this got long...sorry, I am just SO excited for you !!!
One more thing...my husband is quite a bit younger then I am...very strong healthy man if ya know what i mean...and that area of our lives has increased as well....greatly...BONUS !!!
all my side effects from this FM treatment have been positive ones !!! YEAY !!!
