Leo touched on this in the Therapy Thursday check in. Here is what she said:
"Therapy today is: Look in a mirror. Realllllly look. I know, I hate it, too. I can't do it for more than a count of three without hyperventilating. Me, issues? Nah.
Now, look at you, and say, YOU ARE AMAZING.
And walk away. Before the "except for...." list pops into your head."
I gained a substanial amount of weight and attribute it to not feeling well enough to exerise and Cymbalta. That being said and in hindsight, I also ate to comfort my pain. Now being the heaviest I have ever been, except at 9 months pregnant, I am struggling with this body I have never known. But, like you I am trying to do better for myself. Add steps into my sedentary life, eat better, less comfort food.
I don't have any answers, except I know how you feel. My hubby is in Afghanistan and will be home sometime in May. I have not seen him since October. He is training for a marathon, I am, well...not comfortable in my own skin. I am taking baby steps to fix that.
Sorry if I got off on a tangent. You are beautiful!!
I know how hard it is to deal with weight issues. I'm borderline diabetic along with a plethora of other find ailments. I'm sure that it's largely due to weight. I've been in a diet plan through work that is helping though. What I find helpful is just taking baby steps...if you lose a pound, great. If you stay the same, great! If you gain a little, you'll do better tomorrow. Please try not to get to frustrated and never apologize for venting out here. I am 100% sure that all of you ladies are beautiful, I can feel it!
Kel
I'll put on a smile if you will.
I feel better just knowing there are so many people out there who understand what I'm feeling!
Really appreciate it!
Haha part of me is just extra annoyed and jealous about it all because of my husband. I was trying to convince him to do this 21 day challenge with me and he was griping that he didn't want to and he liked eating all his junk food, etc. - so I was like - fine! I'll do it myself!!
Meanwhile, he has problems with his thyroid and has just started to swing further hyper... and so while I've lost NO weight - he's eating everything he wants and has lost 4lbs!!!! GRRR!!!!!! lol why couldn't weight loss be a side effect of fibro!!! leave it to both of us to have health problems but him get the one that makes him thin!
Anyway, all of your support really did make me feel less down about this all. I'm going to try and get myself up to at least clean up the house and get my day started and being productive might also life my mood.
Thanks everyone!!!
Yesterday at the doctor, she actually addressed the need for me to lose weight, so that was an emotional visit! I've always known I have to do something, but this was the first time a doctor said something about it. I told her what all had gone on in my life to lead to the weight gain. I felt like I wanted her to understand what had happened to my world. She was really sweet and kind about it.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I'm battling the same issue and trying to get my head into it. I know how hard it is.
I'm just trying to tell myself that maybe it's the meds. My Lyrica prescription was just doubled... so maybe if I hadn't been watching what I ate this week - I would have gained even more weight?
Grrrrrrr!!!!!!! Fibro is the gift that just seems to keep on giving!!!!! :(
