Meant to respond to the check-in, but I don't have the energy. That's been my problem for a couple of months, perhaps since i moved to this awful apartment. I'm in my 60s but the fatigue associated with fibro is getting worse. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue at the time of fibro onset (the doctor wrote both CFS and chronic fatigue, so I think the CFS was an error). I eat and have to lie down. My energy level is quite fragile. Today I took a walk. Got dizzy half-way through it, although that may be because I haven't taken a walk in a week because of the cold. But in general, I just can't get away with as much as I could a year ago. Or so it seems.
I'm always marvelling at how much most of you guys do. I know you pay a price for it. I can't get half way there, ever. That's why I feel like I'm living in an assisted living center (I don't go anywhere far).
I'm grateful and looking forward to seeing my grandchildren and son and his wife at Christmas for a few hours. Should be nice. I guess I just need to heed my body's signals: more rest. Better organizing of tasks. etc.
Thanks for letting me vent. I read all your posts every day. Love, Shakota

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. What he didn't do like the...

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

I think all of us fibromites need to buy a big complex somewhere with agreeable weather. It would be much more fun to go on walks with understanding people. Even in my late 20s I'm almost never going anywhere, and it's quite shocking if I get in after dark these days. I'm sorry you're feeling this way - I know what you mean and what a downer the feeling can be.
Take care, friend, and I'm sure you'll have a great Christmas with the grandkids. :)
Even when we rest still might not help. But its worth a try to rest an see how you feel for that special day. Take care! And merry Christmas.
What I'm looking for in my fatigue post are hints of how to tweak everything in order to be more functional. There's pacing, meditation, relaxation, emotions, stimulant meds, rest, treating pain. A host of options to try. So, I'll go for some of them. Thanks for your help!
So I know for me, the answer to getting more energy is being more physically active, but it's an incredibly fine line, and the best way is to build up that exercise very, very slowly. Haven't quite gotten that last part down, but I'm working on it
I can only speak for myself, of course. Especially if different medical conditions are also throwing in their opinion about how much/little movement is desirable.
Those are just some rambles from me. :)
I am going to give in to a nap after lunch. it's pleasurable and seems necessary.
Another thing: I am going to focus on only two things: getting out in the morning to exercise/errands and in the afternoon to write or do languages. All other minutae of daily life can be squeezed in between the two big aims.
I am still struggling to find an answer to my sleep disorder (alpha-eeg sleep anomaly). My mornings are still challenging for me, because of feeling unrefreshed. I pray you feel better soon. Best Wishes.
Let us know how it goes. I'm asking for some relief for you.
